''Abyssocottus korotneffi'' is a deepwater sculpin.〔(''Abyssocottus korotneffi'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by Lev Berg in 1906.〔Berg, L. S., 1906 (27 Nov.) (265 ) ''Übersicht der Cataphracti (Fam. Cottidae, Cottocomephoridae und Comephoridae) des Baikalsees.'' Zoologischer Anzeiger v. 30 (no. 26): 906-911.〕 It is a non-migratory, freshwater fish which is endemic to Lake Baikal, in Russia. It is known to dwell at a depth range of 120-1000 metres, most commonly between 450-500 m. Males can reach a maximum total length of 12.6 centimetres, while females can reach a maximum TL of 13.2 cm. It can live up to 12 years.
